Biography

Canadian pianist, Samuel Deason made his concerto debut performing Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No.2 under Peter Oundjian as the first concerto performance in Koerner Hall in Toronto.

Samuel Deason has performed Prokofiev Concerto No.2 with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and concerti by Liszt-Busoni, Khachaturian, Shostakovich, and Gershwin with orchestras across North America and Europe.

Recital performance highlights include Beethoven’s Diabelli Variations for the Master Piano Recital Series in Ottawa, Shostakovich’s Piano Quintet with the Amati Quartet, and a recital for the Dame Myra Hess series in Chicago.

In 15/16 Samuel embarks on a six-concert recital tour under the auspices of OSAC, and returns to the Myra Hess Series.

Samuel Deason studied with Marc Durand and Leon Fleisher at the Glenn Gould School, Robert McDonald at the Banff Centre, and with Menahem Pressler at Indiana University. Presently, Samuel studies under Boris Slutsky at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore on full scholarship.
