Biography

Oscar Jiang began learning piano at age of 6, and studied at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, with Glenn Riddle.
He has won numerous prizes in national and international piano competitions, including the Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition (2015, The Best Performance of a work by Chopin), the Thailand International Piano Competition (2013, 5th prize), the Hanoi International Piano Competition (3rd prize). Other significant prizes within Australia include the Open Piano Concerto Award in Boroondara Eisteddfod (2015, 1st place), the Celebrating Chopin Award in Ballarat (2015, 1st place), the Melbourne Recital Centre Bach Competition (2014, 1st place), as well as major open age championships in Hobart, Shoalhaven, Wollongong and the National Australian Eisteddfod in Canberra. He has performed as a soloist with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (Beethoven Concerto No.1), Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra (Chopin Concerto No.2), and the Zelman Memorial Symphony Orchestra in Melbourne.
