Biography

Mihai Ritivoiu was born in Bucharest, Romania, and studied in his home town, at the National Univeristy of Music, with Professor Viniciu Moroianu, and at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, where he is currently completing his Artist Diploma Degree with Senior Professor Joan Havill. He has played in masterclasses with Dimitri Bashkirov, Dominique Merlet, Richard Goode, Emmanuel Ax and Angela Hewitt.

Mihai won the Dinu Lipatti National Competition in Bucharest, in 2010, and was a prizewinner in the 2011 edition of the George Enescu International Competition. In 2014 he won the Gold Medal in the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe Intercollegiate Competition in London. He has performed, both as soloist and chamber musician in venues such as the Barbican Centre, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Steinway Hall-London, Studio Ernest Ansermet, Geneva and the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest.
