Praised as an artist of “remarkable sensitivity and clarity” (Cleveland Plain Dealer), Meng-Sheng Shen performs as a soloist and collaborative musician throughout North America, Europe and Asia. He recently gave recitals at the Alice Tully Hall in New York and the National Concert Hall in Taipei. Since his concerto debut with National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra at age ten, Mr. Shen has performed at Lincoln Center, Steinway Hall, Warsaw Philharmonic Hall, and Leeds Great Hall.

Mr. Shen’s awards include first prizes from the Koussevitzky Young Artist Award, Chopin (Taipei), Yamaha, and Kawai International Piano Competitions, as well as top prizes in the World Piano Competition and Juilliard’s Rachmaninoff Concerto Competition.

Mr. Shen earned his Master and Bachelor of Music degrees from The Juilliard School where he studied with Jerome Lowenthal and Yoheved Kaplinsky. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts at Peabody Conservatory under the guidance of Boris Slutsky.
