A graduate of Curtis Institute of Music and Yale School of Music, Twenty-one year old Jenny Chen is a Doctor of Music Arts candidate and teaching assistant in Eastman School of Music studying with Douglas Humpherys. Since age nine, Ms. Chen performed with orchestras such as Philadelphia Orchestra, National Repertory Orchestra, Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic, Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Downtown Sinfonietta, and Pacific Symhony. Among her many international awards, Ms. Chen received first prize at the New York MTNA Competition "Young Artist Performance, Rodney and Lorna Sawatsky Rising Stars Concerto Competition, the silver medal at the Fifth New York International Piano Competition and the Twelfth Eastman International Piano Competition, Young Concert Artists’ International auditions, and the Henk de By Incentive Prize in the Ninth International Franz Liszt Competition in the Netherlands. Upcoming engagements include an interview on NPR's Performance Today and performing as guest artist of Tippet Rise Art Center.
