Already active on national and international stages, Canadian pianist Jean-Luc Therrien was recently a semi-finalist in the Roma International Competition and the 3rd and public prize-winner at the Mauro Paolo Monopoli Prize International Competition in Italy. In 2014, he completed his undergraduate degree with Denise Trudel at the Conservatoire de Musique de Trois-Rivières. He is currently completing his Masters with Cordelia Höfer-Teutsch at the University Mozarteum Salzburg. Over the years, he has stood out in several competitions such as the CMC International Stepping Stone, the Maria Canals International Competition, the OSM Standard Life Competition and others. He also won the Soloists Competition of the Trois-Rivières Music Conservatory and consequently performed with the Orchestra of the Conservatory three times. In February 2016, he will be performing a recital of preludes across Canada, including his own transcription of Liszt's "Les Preludes", as part of the JMC Emerging Concert Artists on tour.
