Biography

Born in Hong Kong, Hin-Yat Tsang began his piano studies with Eleanor Wong at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. Hin-Yat is a top prizewinner in major competitions such as the Gina Bachauer International Young Artists and the Third James Mottram International Piano Competitions. He is the 2010 Hong Kong Young Musician of the Year and the gold medalist of the 2014 Chopin Competition in Tokyo. Performances around the world have included countries such as the United States, Japan, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.

A former Croucher Foundation Scholar, Hin-Yat is presently supported by the Craxton Memorial Trust as well as the Worshipful Company of Musicians. Upon completion of his Masters' studies under the guidance of renowned Russian pedagogue Dmitri Alexeev at the Royal College of Music in London, Hin-Yat remains at the College as the current Constant & Kit Lambert Junior Fellow.
