Biography

Feng Bian received his bachelor’s degree and Artist Diploma from The Colburn School with John Perry, and his Masters in Music with Peter Frankl in Yale School of Music. He is currently pursuing DMA at USC Thornton School of Music with Norman Krieger.
 
Mr. Bian has performed with distinguished musicians such as Yehuda Gilad and William Eddins. He has performed as a soloist with the Colburn Orchestra, Culver City Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. He has given recitals in China, US and Europe.
 
He received the First Prizes of the California Division of MTNA (2011), Parness Young Artists Concerto Competition (2011), encouragement prize at the 10th Sydney International Piano Competition(2012), and the third prize in the World Piano Competition (2014). He was awarded the Elizabeth Parisot Award for Distinguished Pianist in Yale School of Music in 2015. He has recorded liszt’s transcriptions of Berlioz’s music with Naxos in 2015.
