Biography

Dong-Wan Ha is a pianist from Seoul, South Korea. Since he began his piano studies at the age of seven, he has studied at SunHwa Arts High School, Seoul National University, and Eastman School of Music. He recently received an Artist Diploma in double major of piano performance and collaborative piano at Cleveland Institute of Music. He is now studying with Alan Chow in Northwestern University for pursuing Doctor of Musical Arts degree. His past teachers are HaeSun Paik, Anita Pontremoli, Barry Snyder, Hyoung-Joon Chang, and Mari Kwon.
He has won several national and international competitions, including Glasgow International Competition of Young Pianists in United Kingdom, and the Chopin International Competition in Asia in Japan. He has appeared as a soloist in several concerts of the Conservatory Project at the Kennedy Center, Sunhwa Arts High School Orchestra, Prime Philharmonic Orchestra in Korea, and Eastman School Symphony Orchestra.
