BiographyDavid Bekker began to play the piano at the age of five in Balmazújváros, Hungary. He soon enrolled at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music where he studied with Andras Kemenes and Jenő Jandó. From 2013 he was training with the legendary russian professor, Dmitri Bashkirov in the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia in Madrid, Spain.
As a soloist or chamber musician he is often performing all around Europa. Bekker has already performed with several orchestras in Hungary. He has been the winner of the Hungarian National Piano Competition, the Béla Bartók International Piano Competition in Wien and the International Piano Competition of Kosice.
SInce 2015 he is studying in the US with William Grant Naboré as the first Oberlin-Como Fellow.
In the concert season of 2016/2017, he will perform with Horacio Ferreira (clarinet) as a Rising Star of the ECHO.
