Biography

Born in Fuzhou, China in 1990, Mr Wang started playing the piano when he was five. With excellent progress confirmed with prizes in major national competitions, he entered the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing for further studies at the age of 13. He completed his Master of Music degree in May 2015 with Robert McDonald at the Juilliard School in New York and joined Manhattan School of Music in September for his doctoral studies with Mr Solomon Mikowsky.

In his professional career, Mr Wang has performed at many famous venues such as Salle Cortot in Paris, Wigmore Hall in London, and Sala Cecilia Meireles in Rio de Janeiro. He is also a laureate of several major international contests such as the 2008 UNISA (University of South Africa) Competition in South Africa, Villa-Lobos Competition in Brazil, Grand Prix Animato in Paris, and Japan’s most prestigious Hamamatsu Piano Competition.
