Biography

Cypriot pianist Andreas Ioannides is currently a Fellowship recipient at Indiana University, where he is pursuing a Doctor of Music degree under the mentorship Menahem Pressler. Ioannides has performed solo and chamber music recitals throughout Europe and North America, and has made appearances on television and radio in his native Cyprus (broadcast by CYBC) as well as in Germany (ZDF) and Switzerland (SRG SSR). His playing has been heard in such diverse venues as the Grosser Saal of the Hamburg Konzerthaus, the Culture and Congress Center of Lucerne, the Temppeliaukio Kirkko in Helsinki, and the British Embassy in Lima, Peru. He made orchestral appearances with the Eastman Philarmonia, the Orchestra of the Pines, the Jacobs School Philarmonic and Concert Orchestras, collaborating with maestros Neil Varon, David Effron and Paul Nadler. In February 2015 Ioannides was the pianist selected to represent the Jacob’s School at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.
